Are You a Wasteful Shopper? - Show #27

My guest this week is Carrie Lauth from Natural Moms Talk Radio and she wrote a very interesting blog post after listening to our shows about CVS shopping and how people walk away paying just pennies for merchandise.
Carrie Lauth’s feelings about CVS Shopping
By joining me this week, Carrie explains in more detail how she approaches frugal living and coupon shopping. She absolutely uses coupons and rebates on products she uses regularly and she certainly shops for discounted prices. But she questions the ethics of stockpiling multiple coupons for one item or buying things you won’t use but will “donate” to charity.
Although it may feel really good to pay only pennies for an armload of goodies, is it really frugal to buy things that you won’t use? When we buy these products that we won’t use, are we in turn telling the manufacturers to keep making these products because they will look great in our landfills? Many people say that they donate the “free” items they receive at CVS but shouldn’t the true donation come from your own pocket rather than CVS’ pocket?
Carrie brings up a lot of interesting questions so please join us! And don’t forget to listen for details about our newest contest!
