Description:
This canvas style bucket caddy fits over a 5 gallon bucket. There are pockets for all your gardening tools, your cell phone, a drink holder and even a place to put your seed packets.

Review:
I love to garden so I spend a lot of time there. Having everything I need in one place and readily available is important because once I’m there I don’t want to have to make a lot of trips back and forth. This caddy has been a life saver for me in that department.

It’s made of a very durable canvas. If it gets wet that’s ok. It doesn’t ruin it in any way. It has deep pockets so all my gardening tools fit in it very well. I like the idea that I can also have a place to put my cell phone. I have children so I keep my cell phone close all the time. I have to admit I’ve lost a few in the garden because I would lay it down then step on it or the dog would run off with it. It’s been a money saver in that department.

The area for the seed packets is pretty neat too. I have a terrible time getting my tools ect wet when I’m in the garden. The hose is not my friend that’s for sure. With the seed packet compartment my seeds stay dry and all in one place. No more looking all over them when the dogs carted them off somewhere.

The canvas fits right over a five gallon bucket. That’s great because now I don’t have to worry about standing all the time or taking that dreaded lawn chair that always gets in my way with me. I can just turn the bucket upside down, slip the caddy right over it and I have myself a chair with everything I need right there.

This garden caddy has been a wonderful purchase for me. If you have a garden or are thinking about starting one I recommend you try the Fiskars Garden Bucket Caddy. It’s the greatest thing since cherry tomatoes.

Dyson Vs. Eureka Vacuum Cleaner - Comparison

May 11, 2008 | 1 Comment

Vacuum cleaners have come a long way since the days salesmen sold Hoover vacuums door-to-door. While Hoover is well-known, let’s compare two other vacuum cleaners that have become just as popular today: Dyson and Eureka.

Dyson features include:

If you’ve seen the Dyson commercials, it is clear that this particular vacuum was originally designed to increase the suction performance that was lacking in other well-known brands.

  • All-floors lightweight upright vacuum cleaner provides constant suction power
  • 200 air watts; on/off brushbar; extends for stair and high-reach cleaning
  • Lifetime HEPA filter; clean air exhaust; 25-foot cord; lightweight design
  • 4/9-gallon bin empties with the push of a button; certified asthma friendly
  • Telescoping Reach Wand
  • Quick-Draw Telescope Reach - Extends instantly for stair and high reach cleaning
  • Hygienic Bin Emptying - No need to touch the dust, just push the button
  • HEPA Filter - Approved for allergy sufferers by the British Allergy Foundation
  • Weight 15.8 lbs
  • Measures 16-1/3 by 12 by 43-2/3 inches; 5-year warranty

The Dyson DC18 is a slim, light, and easy to maneuver bagless vacuum with the trademark root cyclone system. The air expelled from a Dyson has up to 150 times less mold and bacteria than the air you breathe. Cost is approximately $469.00.

Conversely, the Eureka Boss Smart features include:

  • Upright vacuum cleaner with 12-amp motor for carpets and hard floors
  • HEPA filtration system captures 99.97 percent of dust, pollen, and allergens
  • Onboard tools include dusting brush, upholstery nozzle, and crevice tool
  • Stretch hose for above-floor cleaning; 3-stage dust-trap system; 30-foot cord
  • Motorized Brushroll
  • True HEPA Filtration Deluxe Wide Cleaning Path Air Selector
  • Cord Length - 30 ft. Weight 21 lbs.
  • Measures 15 by 11 by 45 inches; 1-year warranty

When comparing the two, consumers state that the overall design of the Dyson allows for easy maneuverability due to the fact that it is lighter than the Eureka vacuum. The cost of the Eureka Boss Smart is approximately $149.00.

Here are additional comparisons that can be made:

  • The Dyson is bagless while the Eureka is not.
  • The HEPA filter in the Dyson can be washed; the Eureka HEPA filter has to be replaced.
  • The Dyson does not have a headlight; the Eureka does.
  • The Dyson has a 25 ft. cord; the Eureka has a 30 ft. cord.
  • Both are easy to assemble.

Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router - Review

Description:
The Linksys Wireless-G Router allows you to connect four computers into one box for easy access to your DSL or cable high speed Internet. It also allows you to connect Wireless-G or Wireless-B devices to your network giving you more options than ever before.

Review:
Looking for a way to connect all my computers together was not an easy task. There are so many different routers out there that finding the right one takes time and a lot of frustration. I came across this router and decided to try it.

One of my reasons for picking this router is because it has wireless capability. I can place it anywhere in my home office and don’t have the hassles of trying to run wires along the ceiling or under the carpet.

Another reason was the price, it wasn’t as expensive as I was afraid of, but does more than enough for what I need it for. For around $50 I have what I need. No reason to spend hundreds of dollars between a router and then have to pay someone to come hook it up because it’s over my head.

The CD that comes with the router was very helpful. After watching it I was able to set up my router with no problems. Connecting it into my other computers and to my cable modem was a breeze. We were up and running in no time and I wasn’t stressed out from it all.

I like the range of this router. I have computers in a couple of different rooms as well as a laptop and have had no problem with my connections. None of my other electronics have been affected by this router either. Which is a lifesaver especially with teenagers in the house.

I also like the fact that I could install my printer for use by everyone. No only can we share the Internet connection and the printer but also files and games. This makes it easy for everyone in the house to enjoy his or her computer without having to save files to a CD and take it to the main computer to print them out.

I would recommend this wireless router to anyone who needs to have more than one PC connected to your Internet. It’s well worth the money and the support system is wonderful. With updates available all the time it keeps you up and going with very little frustration. Wireless is the way to go and you will be glad you did.

Electronic Dog Repeller - Review

Witty Mom Electronic Dog Repeller

Description:
This electronic dog repeller will keep the dogs in the neighborhood quiet and the neighborhood happy. It is an ultrasonic wave generator that settles a dog down and stops the barking with just a push of a button.

Review:
I have a baby who is a very light sleeper. I live in a neighborhood that is filled with dogs. Unfortunately dogs love to bark keeping my baby awake for hours on end. Not anymore. With this electronic dog repeller my baby gets a good nights sleep and so do I.

The repeller is not harmful to animals at all. This was important to me as I don’t want to punish any dogs or hurt them. It generates a high-pitched frequency that only dogs can hear. When you push the button it stops a dog from barking in a matter of seconds. There are no after effects and it is safe for all animals and humans alike.

Although it works up to 20 feet away it is best at 5 to 10 feet from the dog. Sometimes I have to push the button a couple of times if I’m more than about 10 feet from the dog, but it still has the same effect.

This is also a great training device for dogs. The dog hears the sound and stops to pay attention to what you are telling him. It has worked well for me in keeping my dog in the yard and away from the road, which is not easy since we live on a country road that doesn’t get traveled a lot. Because of this, when a car does come by our dog is naturally curious and excited and takes off after the car. I wanted something that would help me to keep him and the drivers on our road safe. I have heard about shock collars for dogs but felt they were just too harsh. After trying this electronic repeller I found no need for any other type of training device for my dog.

Using this device I feel comfortable knowing that I have the control necessary to keep my dog and other dogs in the neighborhood from causing problems they don’t even know they are causing. I feel good about knowing that I’m not endangering a dog’s life but still getting their attention. If you have a problem dog in your neighborhood or even one of your own, try this device it’s well worth it.

Sunbeam 5891 2-Pound Programmable Bread Maker - Review

Sunbeam 5891 2-Pound Programmable Bread Maker

Description:
This programmable bread maker has 600 watts of power to bake a 1 1/2 pound to 2 pound loaf of bread that is unbelievable. It has a 13 hour delay program on a touch control panel that gives you 12 cooking functions and 3 shade selections for your bread.

Review:
Everybody loves homemade bread. The smell of it baking is enough to make your mouth water for days. If you’re like me though making bread can be a disaster. My endevours never turn out right and most of the time I have enough dough to start my own bread factory.

I have cured all these problems and then some by purchasing this programmable bread maker. It has taken the hassle out of it. Now I make bread all the time for everybody.

Not only does this make bread but you can make cakes and even jelly with this. I have experimented with mine and had a few disasters but I think it was pretty much of my own making. There is a recipe book that comes with it. I use the recipes for a place to begin with and then go out on my own to see what different types of bread I can come up with. It’s a lot of fun to just experiment with.

The best part for me though is the fact that I can program it up to 13 hours before I want my bread to bake. My favorite thing is waking up in the morning to the smell of fresh baked bread and fresh brewed coffee. With this bread machine I can make my bread up during the day when I have the time. Then I just set it to start doing its thing during the night. When I wake up in the morning it’s just finishing up. The smell through my house is wonderful. I almost can’t wait to get up and try some. Who would have thought a bread machine could be the best alarm clock in the house? Now the whole family is up and ready.

I couldn’t believe the price on this machine either. At first I thought well I’d probably get what I paid for. Boy was I wrong. I got a whole lot more than I ever imagined. I have heard other people say they paid a lot of money for their bread makers and they don’t do as much as mine does. What a bargain I got.

If you love fresh bread and don’t want to spend a fortune on a bread machine try this one. Your family, your friends and even the neighbors down the street will be glad you did.
