Post Christmas Clearance Shopping

I was in Target today, filling the 10th prescription of the last 2 weeks (my entire family has been sick . . . fun holidays!) and decided to check out the Christmas clearance section.  I wasn’t that surprised to find that there wasn’t much available, and people were snapping up items at 50% off.

I have noticed that stores seem to have less inventory this year than years past, which means that there will be less to clearance.  Even last year, the day after Christmas found me with some great stuff, but this year I purchased one card game that was 50% off and left the rest.

If you need wrapping paper or holiday cards, there were plenty of those available.  I overbought a couple years ago, so I have plenty of paper in my closet so I didn’t even look at that area.

There are still bargains to be found, but I suggest not waiting too long to look for them. Have an idea of what you need, and avoid things just because they are a great deal.  I did notice quite a few clearance items for infant / toddler toys — but since we don’t have any little ones in our circle at the moment I didn’t pick up any of those bargains.

Have you found a great bargain in the days after Christmas?  I’d love to read about it, so leave a comment!
