Review: Coolaroo Square Shade Sail

The Coolaroo Square Shade Sail is ideal for keeping entry ways, play areas, patios, outside dining areas and pools cool and shaded. It’s an economical alternative compared to having a patio awning installed, as well.

The Coolaroo Square Shade Sail is 17’9” square and quite stylish in design. It is constructed of commercial grade polyethylene-weave fabric and blocks up to 90% of the sun’s UV rays. Due to the material being knitted and not woven, the fabric won’t fray or tear. At the same time, the shade sail material is breathable and lets air and moisture through without rotting or growing moldy. It is not waterproof, but colors won’t run when rained on.

All the needed hardware to attach the shade sail is included in the purchase price and the assembly degree of difficulty is considered to be easy. The sail has stainless steel D-rings at each corner which are easy to attach to existing structures. The sail’s design and reinforced webbing around the perimeter prevents the sail from sagging or flapping in the wind.
