Shipping Deadlines

Do you still have Christmas gifts to send? I try to have things shipped direct whenever possible, but this year I have a few things that I need to ship myself. I’ve actually had the items for a while, but haven’t yet wrapped or boxed them. (I don’t know why. Every time my kitchen table gets clear, some kid unloads a big pile of stuff on it! Or I find myself with a tight deadline. Or most of my family comes down with a rotten cold . . . )

Today I found the USPS deadlines for shipping and was glad to see that I’m not too late! I have until December 21 to send out my boxes Priority Mail and they’ll get there in time for Christmas! Yea!

When shipping USPS, I try to use their Priority Mail boxes so that I don’t have to keep boxes. I even try to purchase items that will fit into the flat rate box to save on postage.

To avoid long lines, I go to our local post office after hours. There is an automated machine that allows me to weigh my boxes, purchase postage and drop off. Hmm, this post may just motivate me to get those boxes wrapped and shipped tonight!
