How to Grow Herbs in the Winter – Show #26
Eating healthy foods is difficult any time of year but finding fresh produce and herbs during the winter season is often difficult. Even southern climates have low temps that can kill delicate herbs or seeds that are left outdoors.
This week I had fun with my friend Judy Davis, who received the exact gift I wanted for Christmas, the AeroGarden. She posted pictures and stories about her gorgeous herbs on her blog, Judith L Davis – To Blog, and now I’m determined to get one for myself (and to beat Judy at our contest!)
Judy walked me through the setup of the garden, where it sits in her kitchen, and what types of plants you can grow in it. Since Judy home schools her children, this serves as a science project as well as a cooking class, since the kids often ask which herbs they can use for dinner.
Even though my family doesn’t like “green stuff” in their dinners, I’m definitely getting one of these (and hope that I can remember to water them!)

Thanks Shelly! I forgot to come back and mention that! I saw that they offer several plant kits as well. I’ll be growing some indoors and transplanting others outdoors with that nifty kit.
I ordered mine (I followed Judy’s advice and ordered two) and they are so popular, the black ones were back-ordered after I placed the order! I called in and switched it to a different color because I didn’t want to wait any longer, so I hope to receive mine soon!
Just wanted to post that they do have a kit to grow your own seeds. Hopefully this link works: http://www.aerogardendirect.com/promotion/index.php?promoName=catalog&pageName=product&viewProduct=0022-00Z
I want to get a couple of these now!
Look out Judy! I have two on the way. Game on!
I SO want one of these! And I homeschol too and I can so see my kids loving that.
I have a story too! LOL Maybe we need to have a show where we can talk about horror stories of restaurant things. LOL YUCK now I’m totally grossed out for the day
EEEEWWW!
I don’t know if I should laugh or take a shower now… LOL
I have a similar restaurant horror story. I have a hard time eating there to this day, but when I do, I look around to make sure there isn’t a specific bus boy cleaning the tables…
You mentioned the guy at CVS coughing and burping on you. Once when we were at a restaurant and we turned to see a guy going through the revolving door and sneeze snot all over the door while he was in there.
Any time we go to that restaurant now we refuse to touch the door handles even though we know (hope?) they’ve cleaned it since then.
