Review:
When my daughter was about 10 she started talking about wearing makeup. I was able to put her off for a while, but not long. When she began asking about it again a bit later, I decided she needed a guide that would give her good advice about makeup.
This book was the perfect find for her. I was impressed with the part about taking care of her skin and why it is so important to maintain healthy skin. She liked knowing what to apply to her face to keep it from being so dry and what types of creams would work to keep her face clean and free of acne. It started her on a path that she still sticks to today.
The makeup part was great too. It gave her facts about applying makeup including why wearing too much make up could be a problem now and later in life. It has wonderful step-by-step pictures on how to apply all types of makeup. Some she picked up on right away and others, like applying mascara, took a little longer.
She even learned about colors and shades. This was very helpful for her. She has found shades that match her skin color well and she experimented enough that she no longer has the pasty look so many of us can get when choosing the wrong colors.
I’m glad I found this book for my daughter. She has had a lot of fun trying the different things and has perfected her makeup so that it is appropriate for her age and style. I would suggest this book to anyone who has a teenager ready to start down the makeup road.
