The Perfect Bottle for Kids on the Go

Last Christmas, my 2 boys each received a Foogo by Thermos Leak-Proof 12 oz Straw Bottle. I added the bottles to their wish-list after I saw a friend’s son drinking from one.  When they opened the gift from their godmother, they weren’t sure what to think, but these bottles have been used almost every day since they opened them.

The only complaint my boys (ages 6 & 8) have mentioned is that they wish they held more (they hold 12 oz.)  After almost a year of constant use, they are still in perfect condition.  When my daughter turned one, I bought her one of her own.

The bottles keep drinks cold for at least 10 hours.  My oldest often takes his into his room at night, and there is still ice in the bottle the next morning.  The straw is flexible and easy enough for a toddler to drink from.  One of my favorite things is that they don’t sweat.  I can fill them up with ice and beverage and the outside feels cool, but there is never any condensation.

The bottles wash up easily and there aren’t a dozen complicated parts to worry about.  The lid comes off, and the interior straw can be removed, but that’s it!  The marketing material says that the bottles are dishwasher-safe, but I’ve always washed ours by hand.  They get too much use to wait for a dishwasher cycle!

The bottle is vacuum-insulated stainless steel, while the drinking spout is made from made from food contact safe Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE), so you don’t have to worry about BPA or any other concerns about plastic bottles that have been so prevalent lately.

The cap is handy to keep the drinking spout clean, but I have found that they do leak if left on their side. The cap is easy to flip open and closed — my toddler has no problem working hers by herself.

I got rid of the plastic bottles and sippy cups we used to have, and only use our Foogo Straw Bottles. They also offer a sippy cup with handles
for younger kids. They are pricier than plastic cups, but I have found them extremely durable and well worth the cost.
